Reminiscence of the "MIGHTY" Chennai Super Kings

CSK is one of the most successful franchises of the cash-rich IPL and what makes it so successful?

If your heart or mind mumbled "Dhoni", then you are probably right. Sir Alex Ferguson once said "Give me Zidane and ten pieces of wood, I can still win the match".  Similarly, ex Indian Coach and a South African great Gary Kristen once said, he would go to war with Dhoni by his side; known for his calm and composed attitude on the field, the Indian gloveman is one of the main reasons behind the success of the team.

Suresh Raina, the talismanic southpaw is the main batting stay for the kings in the yellow. Being at the zenith of the runs scored, Raina featured in all the matches that CSK played in the span of eight years making him an integral part of the franchise and their buttress.

Dwayne Bravo grabbing the purple cap twice with CSK makes them a strong bowling team, know for the variety they bring with the ball, CSK has defended some low scores with an immaculate bowling performance.

The only unit to feature in the playoffs of the IPL from its inception making it one of the threatening sides of the Indian Premier League.

It is to be noted that CSK is the only team to defend an IPL trophy successfully in 2011 when Dhoni also achieved the status which some of the great Indian captains/players couldn't achieve- ICC world cup; making it a double break for the captain cool.

Return of the kings:

After a two year ban, the side is back and the "Thala" (Dhoni) and his squad will be trying to return in style. While the promotions have been phenomenal with the Equitas Bank opening a bank account that issues pass books /debit cards in CSK flavor, the players stole the show with the open bus that took them for a practice session from the hotel to their fortress (The Chepauk Stadium).

The overwhelming response from the fans has been the talking point as they turned out in large numbers just to witness the practice session.

Though CSK had 6 odd crores remaining in their kitty, they would be content with the squad they have got.

Watson, Faf du Plessis, and Murali "monk "Vijay are the probable opening options available. N Jagadeesan the local lad can also be considered for the same. While the services in the middle order will be bestowed upon Raina, Dhoni, Jadhav, Rayudu, and Bravo.

The spin attack looks threatening with the likes of Jaddu, Bhajji, Karn Sharma and Imran Tahir.
The  pace department is expected to be lead by Lungisani Ngidi /Mark wood, Shardul thakur and Kerala bowler Asif KM. Not to forget the death overs from Bravo. Though Watson has been a death over specialist, it will be interesting to see if he will be an integral part of the squad.

Dhruv Shorey and Kanishk Seth may also play a valuable role if  selected as they had a memorable outing in the domestic Indian season.

CSK will start their campaign against MI on April 7 at Wankhede.
The contest is about to begin, buckle up and fasten your seat belts to enjoy the super kings ride.

CSK is more than a franchise, it is an "EMOTION".

Tell us what do you feel about the Chennai Super Kings.

Dhamaka in Delhi

Well well, if you have missed out tonight's encounter between Delhi and Hyderabad, then you have certainly missed out on some serious run feast. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Delhi has lost couple of early wickets as Sunrisers were again spot on with their line and lengths.

However, their misery wasn't amplified as Pant took up the responsibility and annihilated the Sunrisers bowlers to every nook and corner of the park. Very seldom you find a guy like Maxwell being veiled by his partner's innings; it was the case today when Pant has out shadowed every one until something unprecedented incident took place.

Scoring his maiden century, Pant has smashed all the bowlers of SRH; known for their bowling SRH has turned the tide and chased down 188 like a boss.

At the end of first innings, it certainly looked like an uphill task for the Sunrisers. But what we have witnessed was just scintillating. SRH batsmen were all over the DD bowlers and never let the required r…
