Substantial Delhi Daredevils

The team which has seen a lot of ups and downs in terms of their core stability is Delhi Daredevils. With the likes of Sehwag, Gambhir, Nehra, and Mishra, Delhi started off their campaign in 2008 as one of the favorites to win the championship. However, they just fell short of a couple of steps to clinch the title.

To further strengthen the things next year, Delhi signs in Dirk Nannes the quicky from Australia. Under the leadership of Gambhir DD topped the table and yet again dropped short of their maiden championship title.

From 2010 until 2017, Delhi has faced a lot of criticism for not performing up to their standards. Reaching playoffs only once in a span of 8 years is a record that needs to be flushed down the gutter. 2012, was one of their successful seasons among the last eight, thanks to the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Mahela Jayawardena, and Ross Taylor.

With Delhi having a capricious core, it was all up to the management to establish a steady and a solid core; and they have done some decent shopping by leveraging some great deals at this year's auction.

2018 Arsenal:

Return of Gambhir after his association with KKR for quite some time is just the boost that Delhi wanted. There are as many as 6 openers in the Delhi Squad, starting from the Captain Gambhir to the latest sensation Prithvi Shaw. However, Gambhir is likely to open with either Jason Roy or Colin Munro, followed by Shreyas Iyer. The middle order looks solid with the likes of Maxwell, Pant, and Morris.

With a decent set of all-rounders like Vijay Shankar, Jayant Yadav, and Dan Christian, Delhi looks a proper batting unit.

Kagiso Rabada is likely to lead the bowling attack with Mohammad Shami, Amit Mishra, and Shahbaz Nadeem. They also have some good reserves like Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, and Harshal Patel.

Delhi has also focussed on some of latest sensations this time around by adding the lads like Prithvi Show, Manjot Kalra, and the talk of the town in Nepal: Sandeep Lamichhane.

With the Australian great Ricky Pointing being appointed as the head coach, Delhi is likely to leave a mark in this season of IPL after a decade from its inception.

Delhi's first encounter is against Kxip on 8th of April. Will they start their campaign with a win or not?

Only time will answer. Until then you share your thoughts on this Delhi squad for IPL 2018.

Dhamaka in Delhi

Well well, if you have missed out tonight's encounter between Delhi and Hyderabad, then you have certainly missed out on some serious run feast. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Delhi has lost couple of early wickets as Sunrisers were again spot on with their line and lengths.

However, their misery wasn't amplified as Pant took up the responsibility and annihilated the Sunrisers bowlers to every nook and corner of the park. Very seldom you find a guy like Maxwell being veiled by his partner's innings; it was the case today when Pant has out shadowed every one until something unprecedented incident took place.

Scoring his maiden century, Pant has smashed all the bowlers of SRH; known for their bowling SRH has turned the tide and chased down 188 like a boss.

At the end of first innings, it certainly looked like an uphill task for the Sunrisers. But what we have witnessed was just scintillating. SRH batsmen were all over the DD bowlers and never let the required r…

WHY AB WHY?

It was about 17:10 in the office and I was working on my PC to meet deadlines. A message popped up from a famous cricket app "Breaking News: AB de Villiers retires from International cricket" Heart missed a beat. A shocker, the man who was expected to play his last International World cup next year has left the cricketing circle. He puzzled the whole fraternity with this announcement.
Who is Ab de Villiers? He is a man known for modesty and simplicity. Did I just say a man? Nope, he is the superman of the Cricketing world. Loved all over the world irrespective of nation, this guy has taken the sport to next level and provided the fans an umpty number of memories to cherish.
No one expected this from him, Did the heartbreak in the Indian Premier League made him take this decision?  He mentioned that "he wants to play all three formats or nothing".
He also mentioned yesterday morning that how RCB is planning to win the cup next Year. What happened all of a sudden i…
