Void without Warner

With the IPL title at stake, all the 8 franchises wanted to get their combinations spot on as it is a million dollar deal, After a mega auction event in January, most of the franchises got it right; one such franchise was Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), led by David Warner, SRH has won their maiden title in the year 2016. He was the salient feature for their crown alongside with some young prodigies. Scoring 500 runs every season from the moment he was roped in 2014, Warner has become the buttress of SRH.

With all the build-up about getting the combinations right, SRH has always entrusted Warner with the captaincy; that was the reason for retaining him back at a whopping price of 12.5cr. With the unfolding of latest on-field events during South-Africa vs Australia test series, the decision was taken by the BCCI to ban Warner and Smith from playing in IPL 2018.

Losing David Warner costs SRH in many ways: they lose an explosive opener, the spine of their batting order, and an aggressive leader. Saying that, who should be considered as his replacement?

There are several names that come to my mind when I think about it, but as per SRH standpoint, there can be none who can fill in the void of  Warner. Let's take a look at some of the possible replacements:

1. Henrich Klaseen:

The hard-hitting Southafrican wicketkeeper has shown the world what he posses in the recently concluded South-Africa and India series. He hits them long and big, he can be an opener, middle order batsman and also a lower middle order finisher, can SRH get his services for this IPL?

2. Eoin Morgan:

Having an experience playing in the IPL and also with SRH, he can be one of the potential replacement. However, the recent form doesn't quite give him the edge to make it to the franchise, will the experience of leading a successful England in the colored clothes help him?

3. Hashim Amla:

Completely contrary to David Warner's attitude, Hash can be roped in by SRH. He has played IPL before, vastly experienced, can score at a brisk rate at the top, can form the backbone of a team. He has all the qualities to fill in Warner shoes, but can he knock the franchise doors?

4. Joe Root:

It took everyone by surprise when Root was not picked up by anyone in the mega-auction. The English test captain will be hoping to get roped in by SRH as this would be his maiden IPL session if he gets an opportunity, he is vastly consistent for England. The only concern would be the strike-rate at which he plays, while Warner strikes at 150, Root strikes at 120. Nevertheless, will he be roped in?

5. Kusal Perera:

The hard-hitting Srilankan opener took the world by storm with his power and tenacity. He was compared to the Srilankan great Sanath Jayasuria. He impressed most of the times he came out to bat. Recently concluded Nidahas trophy corroborates my statement. Strikes the ball at a very good rate, can provide a solid start and is handy in the field.
Certainly, he can fill the Warner-the batsman role. Will SRH try to rope him as a solid opener?

Time will certainly tell us who will be Warner's replacement until then you try to tell us who are your picks to fill the void.

En-route English Soil

The only country where he hasn't sparked up to his potential, the only nation where he likes to quench his thirst for runs, the only place where Indian fans would love to see him score big is England and our captain Kohli is all set to begin his county stint with Surrey.

With this news rolling out in the social media many of his fans are gearing up to witness their hero in the county colors. Surrey not only managed to bag the big brand Virat for a month they managed to get him for a nominal value.

While BCCI is skeptical about Surrey managing Virat's image, they agreed to keep the promotions at minimum and focus more on cricket.

Dhamaka in Delhi

Well well, if you have missed out tonight's encounter between Delhi and Hyderabad, then you have certainly missed out on some serious run feast. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Delhi has lost couple of early wickets as Sunrisers were again spot on with their line and lengths.

However, their misery wasn't amplified as Pant took up the responsibility and annihilated the Sunrisers bowlers to every nook and corner of the park. Very seldom you find a guy like Maxwell being veiled by his partner's innings; it was the case today when Pant has out shadowed every one until something unprecedented incident took place.

Scoring his maiden century, Pant has smashed all the bowlers of SRH; known for their bowling SRH has turned the tide and chased down 188 like a boss.

At the end of first innings, it certainly looked like an uphill task for the Sunrisers. But what we have witnessed was just scintillating. SRH batsmen were all over the DD bowlers and never let the required r…
