Audacious Knights: Kolkata Knight Riders

Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo re, how catchy tune is it? The King Khan's team has set the IPL on fire in the very first match of this riveting league.

It was 18th of April 2008, when I was in my 9th standard (don't start calculating my age :P) a new league called Indian Premier League was incepted; and the inaugural match was played between the teams of Dada (KKR) and the wall (RCB), and what we witnessed that night was a "one-time experience".

Brendon Mccullum smashed every ball to the various corners of the stadium and blazed to a  fantastic 158* and showed all the Indian fans the real taste of  T20 flavor. This is sufficient to call KKR as trendsetters. Ironically, that particular century remains as the only century from KKR over the past decade.

Gautam Gambhir led the side to their two titles in 2012 and 2014, and he is no more associated with KKR, will his absence affect them? Does KKR have enough reserves to reach their third championship title? Let's analyze.

Team composition - IPL 2018.

The only team to finish the auction without knowing who their captain is going to be was KKR and finally, it was bestowed upon Dinesh Karthik; KKR's plan for this auction was unclear which eventually lead to entrust the young Indian talent as they were left with a modest amount.

Who will open the batting for KKR? Does Dinesh Karthik have any specific combination in his mind?

Possible combinations:
Sunil  Narine should be thankful to GG for finding his specific skill as a specialist opener. Chris Lynn/Delport will be taking up the opening duties along with Narine. Lynn's fitness plays a deciding factor in KKR qualifying for playoffs or getting knocked out in the league stage.

A fantastic Indian middle order is what makes this squad so intimidating. It has a blend of experience and youth: Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Nitish Rana, and Shubman Gill are the blokes.

Accelerated innings from the openers can lessen the burden on the middle order and this can certainly make wonders for them in this edition.

Andre Russell has a dual role to play: as a lower order batsman and also as a thrifty bowler in the powerplays.

Mitchell starc's absence can prove costly, but Johnson should be doing the right things in the bowling department. He will be assisted by our Davangere express- Vinay Kumar, and the guys to watch out for in this department are our very own U-19 stars: Kamalesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi, and also the focus will be on the English bowler Tom Curran who came as a surprise replacement for Starc. Having a limited International exposure, he will be trying to make the opportunities count.

Spin department is what makes KKR a threatening one. The trio Kuldeep, Piyush and Sunil make KKR a unique team when compared to others. But how far will it help their cause? Eden Garden's pitch is known for its pace and bounce.

A collective contribution from the squad with the Dk's moves can make their championship journey fruitful. But can they do it? Only time will tell.

KKR start their campaign against RCB on 8th of April 2018 at the Indian Mecca of Cricket. Until then tell us your views on this KKR squad.

En-route English Soil

The only country where he hasn't sparked up to his potential, the only nation where he likes to quench his thirst for runs, the only place where Indian fans would love to see him score big is England and our captain Kohli is all set to begin his county stint with Surrey.

With this news rolling out in the social media many of his fans are gearing up to witness their hero in the county colors. Surrey not only managed to bag the big brand Virat for a month they managed to get him for a nominal value.

While BCCI is skeptical about Surrey managing Virat's image, they agreed to keep the promotions at minimum and focus more on cricket.

Dhamaka in Delhi

Well well, if you have missed out tonight's encounter between Delhi and Hyderabad, then you have certainly missed out on some serious run feast. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Delhi has lost couple of early wickets as Sunrisers were again spot on with their line and lengths.

However, their misery wasn't amplified as Pant took up the responsibility and annihilated the Sunrisers bowlers to every nook and corner of the park. Very seldom you find a guy like Maxwell being veiled by his partner's innings; it was the case today when Pant has out shadowed every one until something unprecedented incident took place.

Scoring his maiden century, Pant has smashed all the bowlers of SRH; known for their bowling SRH has turned the tide and chased down 188 like a boss.

At the end of first innings, it certainly looked like an uphill task for the Sunrisers. But what we have witnessed was just scintillating. SRH batsmen were all over the DD bowlers and never let the required r…
