Gratifying Royal Challengers of Bengaluru

The red army of the IPL, the entertainers, the hard - hitters and what not!

Led by the shrewd batsman Virat Kohli, RCB is such a squad which cannot be kept out of the race at any moment of the league.

When you have a compulsive situation to win, they will. On the other hand, you expect them to beat an opponent with ease, they disappoint; such is the "unpredictable" nature of the team. Reaching the finale thrice in the last decade, always fell short in the ultimate step. Can they come out all guns blazing in this season to win their maiden IPL title? Let us check out their assortment.

RCB's ragbag:

Known for its batting trio: "Virat, Gayle, and Benjamin", RCB is the definition of entertainment. Out of 47 centuries scored in the cash-rich league, the trio has a share of 11 centuries out of the 12 that RCB scored till date.
The camp will be missing the services of Chris Gayle this time as he was bought by KXIP for a base price of two crores and can his exclusion affect the squad? Let's see.

Team composition :

A formidable squad has been built by the RCB franchise this year. Coincidentally the players who bowled them out for 49 in the previous edition of IPL for KKR were all bought by RCB.
The squad has a good bench strength thus giving them an opportunity to try different combinations and replace in case of injuries.

Batting unit looks onerous with the likes of Virat, AB, Mccullum, Qdk, and some Indian domestic talents like Manan Vohra, Parthiv Patel, and Mandeep Singh. But, all eyes will be on the little man "Sarfaraz Khan" who was retained by the franchise for a whopping three crore (Yes, he is an Uncapped Indian!)

All-rounders Collin de Grandhomme, Chris woakes and Washington Sundar are at their brutal best at the moment. Though Moeen Ali is slightly out of the sunshine, his "never quit" attitude can do wonders for them. Corey Anderson's presence adds the additional strength to their squad. But he isn't expected to make an appearance in the playing XI anytime soon.

The main reason that has coasted the trophy for RCB is the lack of consistency in their bowling line-up; Tymal Mills was a disaster last season.

This year the franchise roped in Umesh, Siraj, Chahal, and Tim Southee to build a threatening lineup. The all-rounders Woakes and Sundar can provide vital breakthroughs in the powerplays and Chahal can take it through the rest of the middle overs.

Can RCB conquer their umbrae and rise through the light to achieve what has been a will-o'-the-wisp for the franchise from past decade?

With the opening encounter being against KKR on 8th of April, will RCB's inception in this IPL be a conducive one?

Only time will tell, until then you let us know your views on the Royal Challengers.

Dhamaka in Delhi

Well well, if you have missed out tonight's encounter between Delhi and Hyderabad, then you have certainly missed out on some serious run feast. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Delhi has lost couple of early wickets as Sunrisers were again spot on with their line and lengths.

However, their misery wasn't amplified as Pant took up the responsibility and annihilated the Sunrisers bowlers to every nook and corner of the park. Very seldom you find a guy like Maxwell being veiled by his partner's innings; it was the case today when Pant has out shadowed every one until something unprecedented incident took place.

Scoring his maiden century, Pant has smashed all the bowlers of SRH; known for their bowling SRH has turned the tide and chased down 188 like a boss.

At the end of first innings, it certainly looked like an uphill task for the Sunrisers. But what we have witnessed was just scintillating. SRH batsmen were all over the DD bowlers and never let the required r…

It was about 17:10 in the office and I was working on my PC to meet deadlines. A message popped up from a famous cricket app "Breaking News: AB de Villiers retires from International cricket" Heart missed a beat. A shocker, the man who was expected to play his last International World cup next year has left the cricketing circle. He puzzled the whole fraternity with this announcement.
Who is Ab de Villiers? He is a man known for modesty and simplicity. Did I just say a man? Nope, he is the superman of the Cricketing world. Loved all over the world irrespective of nation, this guy has taken the sport to next level and provided the fans an umpty number of memories to cherish.
No one expected this from him, Did the heartbreak in the Indian Premier League made him take this decision?  He mentioned that "he wants to play all three formats or nothing".
He also mentioned yesterday morning that how RCB is planning to win the cup next Year. What happened all of a sudden i…
