Nawabs of the South: Sunrisers Hyderabad

Being crowned as Champions in 2009 and reaching the semifinals in 2010, Deccan Chargers were the talk of the town in the IPL 2011, after losing a series of cliffhangers, DC was eventually doomed in 2012; reincarnated from the ashes of DC raised an army in orange called as Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Right in the incubation stage, SRH gushed into Playoffs, and by winning the championship in 2016, they have shown the world that they are here to compete and conquer. SRH made their way into the playoffs in 2017, but only managed to lose against KKR in a rain-curtailed vehement battle.

So, what makes this orange army one of the sturdy combatants in IPL?

Is it Warner's presence? Middle order contributions? High-grade bowling?

If you have guessed bowling, then you are probably right. Investing in SRH bowlers every year is like investing in a Long-term equity fund: good investments, better returns. Be it Deccan Chargers or SRH, they are known for producing high-quality bowlers. Ryan Harris, Dale Steyn, and Bhuvi; are few of the international stars and their contributions to the squad are like gold dust.

Deccan Chargers have won the championship by defending 143 in 2009, while SRH defended a lot of scores under 140; warranting their bowling strength.
The fizz factor in 2016, the Rashid Khan rippers in 2017 are few of the latest prodigies from the SRH camp.

After shattering the dreams of  RCB on their home turf, the orange army is looking forward to recreate the history by clinching their second title.

But are they equipped enough?  Not to forget that they will be missing the services of their pocket dynamite: David Warner, both as a batsman and as their commander; how costly can it prove? Let's analyze

Team composition - IPL 2018

Warner's void is really a worry, Kane to fill his commander position, while Alex Hales to take up his opening role. Hales, who has warmed the bench for MI couple of years ago should be ready to take up the primary responsibility of scoring at a quick pace. Dhawan, who has been in good touch since the ICC 2017 CT will be trying to tick his boxes and provide SRH a good start.

While KKR bowlers took RCB route, the middle order found their shelters at SRH camp. Manish Pandey, who was bought for a whopping 11 crore will have a lot to answer with his bat. Deepak Hooda, Shakib and Yusuf Pathan with their multiple skills can add to the balance of the squad.

Saha will keep wickets; the Indian wicketkeeper is fresh after scoring the fastest 100 in a club match for Kolkata: piled up a century in merely 20 balls.

Ricky Bhui and Sachin baby can be roped into the playing XI in case of any inconsistency in the existing lineup.

The bowling line up. What to say regarding this?  Bhuvi will be leading the attack with the KXIP spearhead Sandeep Sharma. Basil Thampi, the emerging player of IPL 2017 is also roped in by SRH.
The spin department looks threatening with likes of Rashid Khan, Nabi, and Shakib.

Chris Jordan, Carlos Braithwaite, Billy Stanlake, Kaul, and Kaleel Ahmed will be a good dessert to the Barbecue of SRH squad.

Will the orange army be crowned with their second championship title? or will they succumb to the expectations?

Dhamaka in Delhi

Well well, if you have missed out tonight's encounter between Delhi and Hyderabad, then you have certainly missed out on some serious run feast. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Delhi has lost couple of early wickets as Sunrisers were again spot on with their line and lengths.

However, their misery wasn't amplified as Pant took up the responsibility and annihilated the Sunrisers bowlers to every nook and corner of the park. Very seldom you find a guy like Maxwell being veiled by his partner's innings; it was the case today when Pant has out shadowed every one until something unprecedented incident took place.

Scoring his maiden century, Pant has smashed all the bowlers of SRH; known for their bowling SRH has turned the tide and chased down 188 like a boss.

At the end of first innings, it certainly looked like an uphill task for the Sunrisers. But what we have witnessed was just scintillating. SRH batsmen were all over the DD bowlers and never let the required r…

WHY AB WHY?

It was about 17:10 in the office and I was working on my PC to meet deadlines. A message popped up from a famous cricket app "Breaking News: AB de Villiers retires from International cricket" Heart missed a beat. A shocker, the man who was expected to play his last International World cup next year has left the cricketing circle. He puzzled the whole fraternity with this announcement.
Who is Ab de Villiers? He is a man known for modesty and simplicity. Did I just say a man? Nope, he is the superman of the Cricketing world. Loved all over the world irrespective of nation, this guy has taken the sport to next level and provided the fans an umpty number of memories to cherish.
No one expected this from him, Did the heartbreak in the Indian Premier League made him take this decision?  He mentioned that "he wants to play all three formats or nothing".
He also mentioned yesterday morning that how RCB is planning to win the cup next Year. What happened all of a sudden i…
