The Big Trinidadian- What to expect?

Mumbai Indians (MI) are going through a rough patch right now, three losses in three matches. Ironically the reason being the lack of quality in death bowling. Being the initiators of quality death bowling in IPL with Malinga and Bumrah, their fates were changed this season as they lost all their encounters in the final over, failing to close the things in their favor.

However, the opening combo should fire for MI, Lendl Simmons who played an integral part of the MI franchise over the past few years went unsold in this auction. The franchise didn't try to retain/RTM him as they were keen on Pollard.

Mumbai franchise always follows a pattern. If a player plays an integral role in the International cricket over the past year, they would rope in that particular player. To validate it, Aaron finch, Corey Anderson are the perfect examples. Both were bought by the franchise in the past after their scintillating records. While Anderson was inducted after his fastest century in ODI, Finch was roped in after his highest score in T20. They further substantiated it by picking Akila Dhananjaya who earned attention and accolades from the audience by his six wicket haul against India in 2017.

And that is not it. MI bought Evin Lewis this year, a striking opening batsman from Windies to do the opening honors. But, was he able to create the fear factor for the opponents till now in IPL?

Expectation:

Evin lewis to India in T20's is what Steven Smith is in tests and Qdk in ODI's. They make sure India is their bunny in the respective formats of the game. Evin lewis rose to prominence when he scored a century against India in USA (2016) and the innings he played at his home in 2017. He became one of the few players to score two T20 centuries alongside Gayle, Rohit, and Munro.

While everyone expected him to come out all guns blazing in his debut innings against CSK, he was dismissed for a duck. Though he proved his mettle in the next two matches, that wasn't enough to open an account for his team in the points table.

So, if Evin Lewis can blast and get some runs in the powerplay would that suffice?  No, not exactly. As we have not seen Mumbai Indians chasing in any of the match, so we can't really say that.
However, Lewis has a heap of responsibilities to bring back the defending champion's pride that has been lost in the earlier matches.

With the pride of MI at stake and the might of RCB in question, tonight's encounter is going to be a belter of an encounter, and our player to watch out for is the mighty Trinidadian- Evin Lewis.

Let's find out whether he has the perfect shots in his arsenal.

Stalwart of England Cricket call it quits!

As we all thought the master blaster's test record is in jeopardy by this English Stalwart, with the run of time this stalwart call it quits from the international Cricket at the age of 33- Still young enough to call it quits. We are now aware of which English player has announced his retirement lately, the reason is simple as we expect it to be so from his nature- which is always down to earth.

Carrying the English opening duties on his shoulder for 12 years and delivering in most of the cases talks about his grit and potential. England's test team without Cook's name is unseen, a record of representing a national team continuously without missing a match is held by our Cook- talks about his strength and fitness.

The legacy was incepted in 2006 when Cook has been handed his debut cap against India at Nagpur by Flintoff, he announced his arrival by scoring a brilliant century in England's second innings, from then he has cooked many innings and has become an unprecede…

Dhamaka in Delhi

Well well, if you have missed out tonight's encounter between Delhi and Hyderabad, then you have certainly missed out on some serious run feast. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Delhi has lost couple of early wickets as Sunrisers were again spot on with their line and lengths.

However, their misery wasn't amplified as Pant took up the responsibility and annihilated the Sunrisers bowlers to every nook and corner of the park. Very seldom you find a guy like Maxwell being veiled by his partner's innings; it was the case today when Pant has out shadowed every one until something unprecedented incident took place.

Scoring his maiden century, Pant has smashed all the bowlers of SRH; known for their bowling SRH has turned the tide and chased down 188 like a boss.

At the end of first innings, it certainly looked like an uphill task for the Sunrisers. But what we have witnessed was just scintillating. SRH batsmen were all over the DD bowlers and never let the required r…

WHY AB WHY?

It was about 17:10 in the office and I was working on my PC to meet deadlines. A message popped up from a famous cricket app "Breaking News: AB de Villiers retires from International cricket" Heart missed a beat. A shocker, the man who was expected to play his last International World cup next year has left the cricketing circle. He puzzled the whole fraternity with this announcement.
Who is Ab de Villiers? He is a man known for modesty and simplicity. Did I just say a man? Nope, he is the superman of the Cricketing world. Loved all over the world irrespective of nation, this guy has taken the sport to next level and provided the fans an umpty number of memories to cherish.
No one expected this from him, Did the heartbreak in the Indian Premier League made him take this decision?  He mentioned that "he wants to play all three formats or nothing".
He also mentioned yesterday morning that how RCB is planning to win the cup next Year. What happened all of a sudden i…
