With a lot of different leagues taking the cricketing realm by a storm, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) comes up with another interesting format.
The cricket lovers are going to witness a new 100 ball tournament in the domestic arena of England, where eight teams will compete in this tournament and are based on cities.
These matches are going to hold a traditional 15 overs followed by a 10 ball over and will be played in both men and women's categories.
The venues to host these matches are as follows:
Lords,
The Oval,
Edgbaston,
Old Trafford,
Ageas Bowl,
Trent Bridge, and
Headingley.
This intriguing tournament is going to commence in the Summer of 2020 and will last for five weeks.
The domestic boards of England are alternating their feelings on this as the ECB stupified the cricketing fraternity with this announcement.
The CEO of ECB Tom Harisson feels that this new format would attract the younger audience and new fans thereby making people come by and watch different formats of this sport.
However, this new tournament is planned to run alongside the T20 blast, Let's see whether T20 blast will be affected by this.
What are your thoughts? Will this move from ECB be a boon to this transcendental sport or will it backfire?
