IPL has been a perfect platform for all the senior players to guide the youngsters with their experience and live performance, guiding the juniors and letting out the best out from them has always been the driving force of IPL, and this edition is no exception.
Let's now look at the five senior most players in this edition of IPL and their role in their respective franchise.
1. Imran Tahir-Chennai Super kings

His partnerships with KL Rahul has been one of the most consistent ones in this edition of the league.
The big man has smashed 252 runs in 4 innings with a century and two half-centuries. He is a strong contender for the orange cap and he will play a prominent role in aiding his team to reach the playoffs.
He even mentioned that he feels so young and fresh as his fitness levels are at their peak.
3. Harbhajan Singh - Chennai Super Kings
Fondly called as Bhajji, has been bought by CSK in the January auction as Mumbai Indians didn't try to retain him. The day he was roped into the squad, he started impressing the people of Chennai by tweeting in Tamil.
The 37-year-old Indian spinner has picked up three wickets in five games at a frugal economy of 7.9.
He played an important role in the homecoming game against Kolkata by picking up the wicket of Sunil Narine who looked in a good touch until then.
With a good depth in the spin attack of the Chennai camp, Bhajji's role as a player as well as a guide is a blessing in disguise for the team.
4. Shane Watson - Chennai Super Kings
The find of IPL 2008 is now an indispensable asset for any team. A prolific all-rounder who contributed to the Rajasthan Royals in the past had two disappointing seasons with Bangalore.
Picked up by Chennai this year, he was able to adapt himself to a perfect allrounder role.
203 runs with the bat that includes a century against his ex-franchise and also picked up six wickets, what else can Dhoni ask for? Watson with his partner Rayudu have been toying around with the bowlers by providing them with blistering starts.
5. Brendon Mccullum-Royal Challengers Bangalore
The 36-year-old hitter from New Zealand played only three matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Baz has represented Kochi, Kolkata, Chennai and Gujarat franchise in the past.
He is the one who has showed the T20 flavor to the Indian fans in the very first game of IPL where he has hit 158.
His flexibility on the field shows his dedication and passion towards the game, given a chance in the playing eleven again, he can never make the camp miss the services of Gayle.
