Stalwart of England Cricket call it quits!

As we all thought the master blaster's test record is in jeopardy by this English Stalwart, with the run of time this stalwart call it quits from the international Cricket at the age of 33- Still young enough to call it quits. We are now aware of which English player has announced his retirement lately, the reason is simple as we expect it to be so from his nature- which is always down to earth.

Carrying the English opening duties on his shoulder for 12 years and delivering in most of the cases talks about his grit and potential. England's test team without Cook's name is unseen, a record of representing a national team continuously without missing a match is held by our Cook- talks about his strength and fitness.

The legacy was incepted in 2006 when Cook has been handed his debut cap against India at Nagpur by Flintoff, he announced his arrival by scoring a brilliant century in England's second innings, from then he has cooked many innings and has become an unprecedented chef of England Cricket, not only England but also in the world Cricket.

Cook's technique might not be from the textbooks, but he has always found a way to flick the ball finner, cut the ball squarer, and pull the ball stronger with authority whenever he was pushed to a corner. And not only using these strokes to good effect but he also let go of the cover drive- which is the most effective and efficient and yet a susceptible scoring option to the best of his ability as he would be playing mostly in the typical English conditions.

England team will not only miss his services as an opener but also his shrewd thinking and company in the dressing room, his best mate Anderson has said in a recent interview that "I would be missing his company and a shoulder to cry", while many of the English greats and current players bid adieu to this stalwart, we the fans of this epic sport will miss the only kind of a test player in this T20 era.

Scoring 12472 runs at an average of 45.35 as an opener is second to none in the world Cricket, he is the only player to score more than 10000 runs as a test opener, he has played an innings which reads as 836 minutes at the crease-the third longest innings in the test cricket, he has represented England in most number of tests (161). 59 tests as a captain, 4 ashes wins (2 as captain), historic test series wins in India and South Africa. The only English man to run the Asian players for his wicket on Asian pitches, Cook has a stellar 50.48 as an average in India. All these are few of the pages held by Cook in the record books.

Cook has set the standard so high for an English opener that the position will not only test the potential of his successor but also his character. we wish Cookie the best for his future endeavors.

En-route English Soil

The only country where he hasn't sparked up to his potential, the only nation where he likes to quench his thirst for runs, the only place where Indian fans would love to see him score big is England and our captain Kohli is all set to begin his county stint with Surrey.

With this news rolling out in the social media many of his fans are gearing up to witness their hero in the county colors. Surrey not only managed to bag the big brand Virat for a month they managed to get him for a nominal value.

While BCCI is skeptical about Surrey managing Virat's image, they agreed to keep the promotions at minimum and focus more on cricket.

Indian skipper will feature in at least six matches starting from June 1st. Both Virat and Alec Stewart (Surrey's director of cricket) expressed their happiness.

Virat says "It has long been an ambition of mine to play county cricket and I am thankful to Alec Stewart and Surrey for allowing me the opportunity to join them during their 2018 se…

Dhamaka in Delhi

Well well, if you have missed out tonight's encounter between Delhi and Hyderabad, then you have certainly missed out on some serious run feast. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Delhi has lost couple of early wickets as Sunrisers were again spot on with their line and lengths.

However, their misery wasn't amplified as Pant took up the responsibility and annihilated the Sunrisers bowlers to every nook and corner of the park. Very seldom you find a guy like Maxwell being veiled by his partner's innings; it was the case today when Pant has out shadowed every one until something unprecedented incident took place.

Scoring his maiden century, Pant has smashed all the bowlers of SRH; known for their bowling SRH has turned the tide and chased down 188 like a boss.

At the end of first innings, it certainly looked like an uphill task for the Sunrisers. But what we have witnessed was just scintillating. SRH batsmen were all over the DD bowlers and never let the required r…
